     Yoga

Yoga is one of the most commonly practiced forms of physical and mental exercise. It can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word ‘Asana’ which denotes various physical postures or poses. Stretching is a part of Yoga, but what Yogasanas really do is to create balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility.

  • Hatha Yoga
  • Hatha is a basic form of yoga and is very easy to learn. It integrates slow-paced stretching and physical postures, simple regulated breathing and seated meditation to form a complete system that can be used to achieve enlightenment. It has become a very popular source of exercise and stress management.

  • Raja Yoga
  • The mind is traditionally believed to be the "king" of the psycho-physical structure of a human being. Raja-yoga which literally means ‘royal yoga’ aims at achieving liberation of the mind through meditation, hence the name. People who are capable of acute concentration mainly practice this form of yoga by controlling all thought-waves and mental modifications. This helps them to create harmony with other human beings and environment, at large.

  • Bhakti Yoga
  • The term ‘Bhakti’ denotes the spiritual practice of worshiping God. Similarly Bhakti Yoga or "devotional yoga” focuses on surrendering oneself in the face of the Divine. This form of Yoga is also dedicated to personal growth, soulful evolution and strengthening personal spiritualism through various meditations. People who practice Bhakti Yoga get influenced positively for a better quality of life.

  • Mantra yoga
  • Mantra yoga meditation implies to chanting a word, phrase or mantra until the mind and emotions get transcended to reveal the inner cognizance. The music of a mantra easily rescues the mind from wandering and diverts it to the object of one’s meditation.

  • Karma Yoga
  • Karma yoga combines both the physical and mental aspects of Yoga, i.e. Hatha Yoga and Bhakti Yoga to generate a single concept that can help one enter the higher realms present in both- the body and heart. It is a complete revitalization for the body that also refreshes the mind and enlightens the spirit with the practice of Pranayama.

  • Laya Yoga
  • Regarded as the highest form of yoga,Laya Yoga is based on focusing the mind by specific ways on the chakras and bringing on Kundalini energy to arise. Laya basically means "dissolution” and the mind and body is dissolved in this form of Yoga through intensive prayers, singing mantras, meditations of light and nods or glorification leading to stimulation of Kundalini power.

  • Power Yoga
  • Power yoga is fundamentally a form of yoga with brawn. Ashtanga yoga traditionally means a discipline that combines stretching, strength training as well as meditative breathing. Power yoga takes Ashtanga a step ahead with sweat-producing and muscle-building power. The poses of Power Yoga may be that of basic calisthenics like push-ups and handstands, toe touches and side bends, but its continuous flow from one pose to another makes it an intense aerobic workout.
